Year 8 students explored nutrition and carbohydrates by testing food samples with iodine solution. The colour change from brown to blue-black confirmed the presence of starch, reinforcing the importance of carbohydrates as an energy source.

Meanwhile, Year 9 students delved into chemistry by synthesising copper sulfate. They observed the formation of blue copper sulfate crystals after reacting copper oxide with sulfuric acid and filtering the solution.
