Boarding Programme

Boarding Programme

Our residential House system in Haileybury Bhaluka is based on the traditional boarding house programme at Haileybury in the UK. It is the centre of the life of the school. Our pupils benefit from the help of a dedicated Housemaster or Housemistress, and two additional Assistant Housemasters/mistresses. Each house has a Matron who makes sure that the house is run efficiently.

Every pupil and academic staff member in the school belongs to one of the eight Houses named after eight regionally celebrated, ancient rivers across Bangladesh:

  1. Jhenai House is named after the river in the central district of Mymensingh.
  2. Turag House is named after the river in the capital district of Dhaka.
  3. Halda House is named after the river in the southeastern division of Chattogram.
  4. Manu House is named after the river in the northeastern division of Sylhet.
  5. Kaliganga House is named after the river in the south-central division of Barisal.
  6. Pasur House is named after the river in the southwestern division of Khulna.
  7. Dharala House is named after the river in the northwestern division of Rangpur.
  8. Baral House is named after the river in the northern division of Rajshahi.
