Curriculum

Haileybury Bhaluka prepares students for top universities and a successful life after graduation. We believe our students should be equipped with knowledge that allows them to understand and make sense of the world around them. Our curriculum supports understanding of how to apply knowledge and ways to seek new opportunities using that knowledge.

With a broad, balanced and globally renowned British education in Bangladesh, our pupils will develop high level skills of communication, collaboration and critical thinking.

Years 7 to 9 (ages 11 to 14)

Our youngest students are at a key stage in their intellectual, physical and social development. Smoothly guided transition to be successful senior students is supported by superb teachers, underpinned by modern progressive methods and positive attitudes to learning.

The strong curriculum embraces English, Mathematics and Science; History Geography and Modern Foreign Languages; Art, Music and Sport, Information Technology and Computer Science.

Students are encouraged to take Bengali and Bangladesh studies.

Years 10 to 11 (ages 14 to 16)

This is a key stage of learning where students are working towards their International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSEs). Bangladeshi students are also expected to sit Bengali and Bangladesh studies to help them to appreciate the language and culture and prepare them for the future as global citizens.

Years 12 & 13 (ages 17 & 18)

There is a caring atmosphere at Haileybury, each student being given personal attention supporting their university applications. We have experts who guide them to deciding which university and areas of study are the best fit.

The school will pursue authorisation as an IB World School. These are schools that share a common philosophy—a commitment to high quality, challenging, international education that we believe is important for our students.
